چکیده
Salvinia molesta D. S. Mitchell (Salviniaceae) is an invasive aquatic plant that causes environmental and economic damage, but its rapid growth in eutrophic media can be used for the biotechnological use of biomass. Thus, aim this work was to determine best technique lipid extraction from molesta, testing solvents hexane:methanol (2:1 v/v), ethanol:water (10% v/v) (4 % association with auxiliary techniques: ultrasound without glass beads magnetic preparation at 17 34 ºC. The yields obtained were ones 2:1 aid (8.30 ± 0.05%). mixture 10% agitation ºC also potential, as it uses less toxic presents a yield 6.90 0.21%.

Giant salvinia (Salvinia molesta) is one of the most noxious invasive species in the world. Our bioactivity-guided fractionation of ethanol extract of giant salvinia led to the isolation of 50 compounds. Of the six new compounds (1-6), salviniol (1) is a rare abietane diterpene with a new ferruginol-menthol coupled skeleton and both salviniside I (2) and salviniside II (3) are novel benzofuran ...

There are at least 2 ecotypes of this insect; the smaller Florida ecotype found on common salvinia, S. minima B...
متن کاملSalvinia: an Aquatic Fern with Potential Use in Phytoremediation
Salvinia exhibit capacity for removing contaminants such as heavy metals, inorganic nutrients, explosives from wastewaters. Properties such as high productivity, high sorption capacity and high metal removal potential establish Salvinia as an aquatic fern with immense potential for use in phytoremediation technologies. Realizing capabilities of Salvinia, its role for mass scale use in phytoreme...
متن کاملPotential of Salvinia molesta for Removal of Sodium in Textile Wastewater
Textile industries are one of the major contaminators of water and soil. Sodium is the only major cation present in textile wastewater due to high consumption of sodium salts in processing units. Many aquatic macrophytes are successfully used for phytoremediation of contaminated water. An attempt has been made to test the potential of Salvinia molesta in reduction of sodium from textile effluen...

Salvinia molesta Mitchell, a floating invasive aquatic plant, is one of the top 10 worst invasive aquatic weeds in the world. It was discovered in the lower Pascagoula River in 2005 and evidence suggests that this non-native species is spreading along the northern Gulf of Mexico. These plants exhibit rapid growth and nutrient uptake rates, allowing them to out compete other plants in similar ha...
